Important: Please make sure your Entourage 2008 copy has Web Services Edition Update installed before proceeding with its configuration. To obtain this software please go to Step 2. Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition uses Exchange Web Services as the primary protocol to communicate with Exchange Server. In addition to several calendaring improvements, this new version of Entourage synchronizes notes, tasks, and categories with the Exchange Server. Caution: If you want to go back to the earlier version of Entourage after you install Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition, you have to remove the complete Office 2008 application. Step #1. Verify that your machine is compliant with the system requirements announced by Microsoft. Troubleshooting: You may get an error message below during the installation even if all updates are installed. You cannot install Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume. We would strongly recommend you to create an Autodiscover record before you proceed with the Entourage Web Services setup. With the Autodiscover record, Entourage can determine your Exchange account setting automatically. Please follow instructions below to configure Exchange account in Entourage Web Services. Enter the following information in the new window (Use one of the following options): Entourage should confirm that the settings were successfully verified. Select the right arrow on the confirmation screen. 5. Verify your Exchange account settings. Select the Verify My Settings button as a next step. Wait for verification to complete and select the right arrow.
How to connect Microsoft Entourage 2008 EWS to the Exchange Server
Your mailbox should be on Exchange 2007 or 2010. Entourage Web Services Edition will not work for Exchange 2003 mailboxes.
Step #2. Install Entourage Web Services Edition.
First of all, please ensure that your Mac meets the system requirements listed above.
o If an Autodiscover record is configured for the domain name, Entourage will determine settings automatically. You will get a prompt such as the one below. Check the box "Always use my response for this server" and select the Allow button.
A. Exchange domain: EXCH021
Account ID: Type your mailbox username. (This can be found by navigating to "MS Exchange Server > Mailboxes," selecting the required mailbox and then the Advanced tab. The Entourage Account ID is the "User Name" listed after "Domain\".)
Password: Password associated with the mailbox.
B. Exchange domain: Leave blank.
Account ID: Type your full email address.
Password: Password associated with the mailbox.
o If no Autodiscover record exists for the domain, Entourage will show a screen such as the one below. Select the right arrow to specify missing settings.
o Exchange Server URL:
West Site: https://west.EXCH021.serverdata.net/EWS/Exchange.asmx
East Site: https://east.EXCH021.serverdata.net/EWS/Exchange.asmx
o Select the right arrow to proceed.
Enter the following information in the new window (Use one of the following options):
A. Exchange domain:EXCH021
Account ID: Type your mailbox username. (This can be found by navigating to "MS Exchange Server > Mailboxes," selecting the required mailbox and then the Advanced tab. The Entourage Account ID is the "User Name" listed after "Domain\".)
Password: Password associated with the mailbox.
B. Exchange domain: Leave blank.
Account ID: Type your full email address.
Password: Password associated with the mailbox.
6. Give your account a descriptive name.
7. Under the Entourage menu, select Preferences and then Compose. Ensure that 'Automatically check names when sending messages' is enabled. Note: This checkbox is unchecked by default.
